I'm reading The Strain by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan, I'm at the solar eclipse scene, a huge omen in the story, and all my friends are texting me about the lunar eclipse. Starting to freak out.

I'm currently reading Obama's Wars by Bob Woodward. It's a non-partisan look into how Obama has "managed" Iraq and Afghanistan. Fascinating insights into the man and his administration. It's sort of inspired me to try my hand at a game where every character is some kind of big wig with pull, and they are all trying to manage a war.

Starting to freak out. If you liked "The Strain", try "The Passage" by Justin Cronin next. I've been really into vampire apocalypse stories as of late.

I just finished Fuzzy Nation, a sort of reboot of H. Beam Piper's classic story. While not a classic like the original, this one was a great, enjoyable read. Writing up a Risus setting book based on some ideas from the book.

Gah! Not available on the Kindle, else I would own it already! Foiled again!

Gah! Not available on the Kindle, else I would own it already! Foiled again! Ha! Years ago, I had a cross country car trip by myself. I stopped at a B&N before leaving and randomly picked up the first book in the series (A Morbid Taste for Bones) on CD. Listened to it, fell in love with it. By that time, most of the books were going out of print of the particular publisher I prefer (Mysterious Press) and so I had to hunt them down in used bookstores and the like. I'm still missing some. I've considered it for my kindle as well, but sort of glad they aren't on it yet, because it makes the hunt for the used copies I'm missing something of an adventure on it's own.

I am devouring a recent Dresden files book by Jim Butcher interspersed with drinks from Dark Currents by Lindsay Buroker.
As much as I like the Dresden files and Jim Butcher's writing, The Codex Aliera saga hasn't grabbed me in the slightest. Anyone else have a similar experience?
